As a result, by Sept. 15, you need to decide whether to switch to MetLife PetFirst and continue to pay by payroll deduction or keep your Nationwide pet insurance and pay them directly. Before you decide, be sure to compare premiums and coverage. It’s important to know that PetFirst doesn’t cover birds, reptiles or other exotic animals. And if your furry family members with pre-existing conditions are already covered by Nationwide, they will still be covered when you switch to PetFirst.
