Triple your tax advantages
With tax season top of mind, consider these three IRS-approved ways to save tax-free money.
Use your HSA
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) offer a triple-tax advantage. Your deposits are tax-deductible. Your growth is tax-deferred. Your spending is tax-free. If you’re enrolled in the Rockwell Automation Broad Access HSA Option, contribute up to $3,650 (employee only) or $7,300 (family) to your 2024 HSA. This includes the $500 (employee only) or $1,000(family) Rockwell Automation. If you’re age 55 or older, you may make an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution.
Review your 401(k) contributions
With the Rockwell Automation Retirement Savings Plan (the “401k” Plan), you get a tax break to save for your future. Your paycheck contributions can be made before-tax, and the money in your account grows tax-free until you withdraw it in retirement. Your contributions, combined with Rockwell Automation’s matching contributions, make your 401(k) a powerful savings vehicle. Reminder — Rockwell Automation matches 50% of your pre-tax, Roth and regular after-tax contributions up to 7% of your pay. In other words, if you’re contributing at least 7%, Rockwell provides 3.5% in matching contributions.
Contribute up to the IRS limit ($23,000 in 2024) on a pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax basis — plus an additional $7,500 in catch-up contributions if you’re age 50 or older. You may also contribute to the plan on a regular after-tax basis. Catch-up contributions are not eligible for the company match.
Visit 401k.com to learn more or change your contribution amount.
Fund your FSA
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) save you pre-tax money to pay for eligible, out-of-pocket medical, child and elder care expenses. Rockwell Automation offers three FSAs.
With the Dependent Care FSA, Rockwell Automation matches your contribution dollar for dollar up to $1,000. If you’re enrolled in the Dependent Care FSA, use this money (up to $4,000 in 2024) for nursery school, in-home care and other dependent care expenses. You don’t need to be enrolled in a Rockwell medical plan to participate in a Dependent Care FSA.
The Healthcare FSA can help you pay your medical deductibles, copays, prescriptions drugs expenses, and more, if you’re enrolled in the Broad Access or High-Performance Plan. Use this money (up to $3,050 in 2024) for eligible expenses for you and your tax dependents.
If you’re enrolled in the HSA option, use your Limited Purpose FSA funds (up to $3,050 in 2024) for preventive pharmacy coinsurance, and dental and vision expenses for you and your tax dependents until you meet your deductible. After you meet your deductible, use the Limited Purpose FSA for eligible medical expenses, too.
Remember to use all your FSA funds by Dec. 31, 2024, or you’ll lose any money over $640 left in your account at the end of the year. Your deadline to use 2024 contributions is Dec. 31, 2024. Your deadline to submit 2024 expenses is March 31, 2025.
Access and manage your account and submit claims through Smart-Choice on Your Benefits.

January 2024
- January is Financial Wellness Month. Your financial wellness is an important part of your overall well-being. It helps you navigate through all of life’s moments with more confidence—tackling your short-term financial goals while showing some love to those long-term ones, too. Fidelity’s financial wellness checkup can help you understand what’s going well and what else you can do to work toward your money goals. Take a few minutes to answer some questions (think: saving and spending, debt management and more). From there, you’ll get a look into how you’re doing and find tips that can help you move forward.
- Know your 401(k) employee contribution limits. The IRS puts annual limits on how much can be saved to employer-sponsored 401(k) plans. For 2024, the combined pre-tax and Roth contribution limit has increased to $23,000. If you are age 50 or older in 2024, you may make additional catch-up contributions up to $7,500. You can change your contribution rate to the Rockwell Automation Retirement Savings Plan at any time throughout the year by logging into your account at 401k.com or by speaking with a representative at 1.877.ROK.401K (1.887.765.4015) from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Central Time.
- Find extra help. Enjoy added support this year with your free Bright Horizons membership through Rockwell Automation. Enroll your child in virtual day camp with weekday activities from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Access sitters and nannies for child, elder or pet care with advanced search tools and background checks.

Fall into a healthier you
The changing foliage marks a natural turning point for healthy habits. Hike in the crisp autumn air. Fill your plate with seasonable veggies. Cultivate financial wellness. There’s inspiration all around this season for healthy living.
Walk with friends and family. Walking with loved ones can turn a dreaded exercise into a meaningful social occasion. If you’ve been avoiding the outdoors because of the heat, now’s your chance to take in some fresh air and burn off that pumpkin-spiced latte. Track your steps and earn a Take Action Activity credit while you’re at it.
Fight the flu. Flu shots are 100% covered by the Rockwell Automation medical plans. According to the Centers for Disease Control, a flu shot is the single most powerful way to fight the flu this fall. Flu shots are free for covered family members, too.
Take care of your mental health. Shorter days and cooler temperatures can lead to seasonal sadness and anxiety. As a benefits-eligible Rockwell Automation employee, your free, premium membership to the Calm app includes tips to manage seasonal mood changes. If you need to speak with a professional counselor, the Employee Assistance Program offers free, 24/7 support for you and your family members.
Get a health screening. Complete a biometric health screening to earn $100 on next year’s medical premiums. The screening measures four healthy targets—blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose and body mass index (BMI)—that will provide you with important information you can use to manage your health. An annual health screening is free with a Rockwell Automation
medical plan.

However you choose to enjoy the new season, we wish you a happy and healthy fall.
